I had The Gold Coin on my TBR pile for years, possibly a decade. Never made it through. Someone tell me how it reads now, I still have it. Somewhere.

@meoskop : If you’ve read one historical by Andrea Kane, you’ve read them all. I used to have The Gold Coin & The Silver Coin combined as an omnibus.. and both stories are rather meh. The suspense falls flat (or rather predictable as hell).. and the characters aren’t really unique or memorable in anyway. Her books pretty much follow a standard formula, making it hard for me to differentiate the several stories I *have* read.

I snorted when I read this. As soon as I read the word “model” in the blurb, I knew I wouldn’t even pick this up. Though, in a small part of my brain, I do wonder how in the world she could be a model and still not have people touch her. I’m fairly certain the hair and make-up people have to lay hands on the models in order to get them ready for a shoot. This may be explained in the book but alas, I not curious enough to find out.
