The Look of Love: The Sullivans, Book 1 by Bella AndreThe Look of Love by Bella Andre. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

With THE LOOK OF LOVE, New York Times & USA Today Bestselling author Bella Andre introduces you the Sullivan family. In this fun and emotional contemporary romance series, when a Sullivan bad boy falls…he falls hard. And it’s forever.

Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she’s convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he?

As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is—until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love—and protect—her, but will she let him?

Chloe vows never to make the mistake of trusting a man again. Only, with every loving look Chase gives her—and every sinfully sweet caress—as the attraction between them sparks and sizzles, she can’t help but wonder if she’s met the only exception. And although Chase didn’t realize his life was going to change forever in an instant, amazingly, he isn’t the least bit interested in fighting that change. Instead, he’s gearing up for a different fight altogether…for Chloe’s heart.

This is Book 1 in the Sullivan series. If you recall, Harlequin paid seven figures to distribute the print version of this series. January enjoys the Sullivan series best of all the Andre books.

She’s a werewolf princess . . .

Bryn believes vampires are seductive and charming, and that makes them dangerous. But as they hunt down the new leader of the Malcontents, danger threatens . . . and Phineas and Brynley discover a passion that will rock the foundation of their supernatural world.

This is in the vein of Lynsay Sands – humorous vampire romance.

Untouched by Sara HumphreysUntouched by Sara Humphreys. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

Kerry Smithson’s modeling career ensures that she will be admired from afar, which is essential since mere human touch sparks blinding pain and terrifying visions.

Dante Coltari is hired to protect Kerry from those who know who she is—or more importantly what she is—and want her dead because of it. Nothing could have prepared him for the challenge of keeping her safe. But, strangely, his lightest touch brings her exquisite pleasure rather than pain, and Dante and Kerry have an otherwordly connection that might just pull them through.

This is available at the 1.99 price at Amazon and Apple. Kerry can’t touch anyone because to do so causes pain but she finds out fairly early that when she touches Dante, not only is there no pain, but there is pleasure. According to the reviews, this causes Kerry to push Dante away.

As one reviewer says, this makes no sense.

I had The Gold Coin on my TBR pile for years, possibly a decade. Never made it through. Someone tell me how it reads now, I still have it. Somewhere.

@meoskop : If you’ve read one historical by Andrea Kane, you’ve read them all. I used to have The Gold Coin & The Silver Coin combined as an omnibus.. and both stories are rather meh. The suspense falls flat (or rather predictable as hell).. and the characters aren’t really unique or memorable in anyway. Her books pretty much follow a standard formula, making it hard for me to differentiate the several stories I *have* read.

“As one reviewer says, this makes no sense.”

I snorted when I read this. As soon as I read the word “model” in the blurb, I knew I wouldn’t even pick this up. Though, in a small part of my brain, I do wonder how in the world she could be a model and still not have people touch her. I’m fairly certain the hair and make-up people have to lay hands on the models in order to get them ready for a shoot. This may be explained in the book but alas, I not curious enough to find out.
