Big Sky Country by Linda Lael MillerBig Sky Country by Linda Lael Miller. $ 2.99

From the Jacket Copy:

The “First Lady of the West,” #1 New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller is back with a new series about Parable, Montana-where love awaits.
The illegitimate son of a wealthy rancher, Sheriff Slade Barlow grew up in a trailer hitched to the Curly-Burly hair salon his mother runs. He was never acknowledged by his father-until now. Suddenly, Slade has inherited half of Whisper Creek Ranch, one of the most prosperous in Parable, Montana. That doesn’t sit well with his half brother, Hutch, who grew up with all the rights of a Carmody. Including the affections of Joslyn Kirk, homecoming queen, rodeo queen, beauty queen-whom Slade has never forgotten

But Joslyn is barely holding her head up these days as she works to pay back everyone her crooked stepfather cheated. With a town to protect-plus a rebellious teenage stepdaughter-Slade has his hands full. But someone has to convince Joslyn that she’s responsible only for her own actions. Such as her effect on this lawman’s guarded heart.

I think I saw Sarah Wendell say that she was reading this and was irritated that life was interfering.

Unfixable by Tessa BaileyUnfixable by Tessa Bailey. $ .99

From the Jacket Copy:

A new adult novel from Entangled’s Embrace imprint…
He’s the last thing she wants—but the only thing she needs.

Willa Peet isn’t interested in love. She’s been there, done that, and has the shattered heart to prove it. Ready to shake the breakup, she heads to Dublin, Ireland. But there’s a problem. A dark–haired, blue–eyed problem with a bad attitude that rivals her own. And he’s not doling out friendly Irish welcomes.

Shane Claymore just wants to race. The death of his father forced him off the Formula One circuit, but he’s only staying in Dublin long enough to sell the Claymore Inn and get things in order for his mother and younger sister. He never expected the sarcastic American girl staying at the inn to make him question everything.

But even as Willa and Shane’s fiery natures draw them together, their pasts threaten to rip them apart. Can Shane give up racing to be with the woman he loves, or will Willa’s quest to resurrect the tough–talking, no–shit–taking girl she used to be destroy any hope of a future together?

This is getting a lot of positive reviews and I generally enjoy Bailey’s writing. This started off a bit slow and I put it down but I plan to go back to it.

FAE HORSE: A Faery Tale – ANTHEA SHARP *Exclusive content*
Accused as witch, Eileen must flee for her life, leaving her village and true love behind. With her pursuers closing in, she chances across a strange black horse who offers her only hope of escape. Eileen mounts it—only to discover that the cost of her ride may be more than any mortal could bear. (20 pages)

As the subtitle of this suggests, this is a collection of novels and novellas and really short stories–one is only 20 pages long. There are really only two books in the collection and the rest are novellas. It’s kind of ironic because when you can get 10 or 14 books in one bundle, these novella collections seems almost like a rip off. It’s amazing how perceptions can be manipulated.

Any audiobook fans might want to check out the Sookie Stackhouse series at Audible. All 13 books are on sale for $4.95. I never got into reading this series and think I’ll try listening to first one to see if that works for me.
