A Touch of Midnight (Midnight Breed Series Novella) by Lara AdrianA Touch of Midnight: A Midnight Breed Novella by Lara Adrian. $ Free at Amazon | Kobo

From the Jacket Copy:

This novella, a prequel to the Midnight Breed series, was previously published in its entirety in The Midnight Breed Series Companion.

Savannah Dupree is halfway across the country from her Louisiana bayou hometown, a freshman studying at Boston University on a full scholarship. But academic excellence is only one of Savannah’s gifts. She possesses something even more remarkable than her quick mind and insatiable curiosity for learning. With a simple touch, Savannah can see an object’s past-a skill that puts her life in danger, when her studies bring her into contact with a centuries-old English sword and the secret hidden within the blade’s history: the vicious murders of twin boys by a group of fanged creatures borne of the worst kind of nightmare.

In all his three hundred years of living as one of the Breed, vampire warrior Gideon never dreamed he’d see the blade again that spilled his young brothers’ lives ages ago on that blood-soaked night in London. Ever since the boys’ deaths, Gideon’s been on a personal quest to rid the world of Rogue vampires, but now he can’t help wondering if the brutal slayings of his only kin was something more sinister-an act perpetrated by an unknown enemy. An enemy who is apparently living in hiding somewhere in Boston. There’s one certain way to prove Gideon’s suspicion, but it will mean using innocent, gifted Savannah to help uncover the full truth-a truth that will shatter everything she knows about herself and the world around her. And with danger closing in from all sides, the passion that ignites between Gideon and Savannah will tempt them to risk their hearts and lives for a love that might just last an eternity….

This really is a prequel per some of the reviews. It gives you a little greater insight on some of the early breed characters.

Gentlemen Prefer Succubi (Succubus Diaries Series #1) by Jill MylesJill Myles by Gentlemen Prefer Succubi. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

Who Knew An Angel Could Get A Girl In So Much Devilish Trouble?

Jackie Brighton woke up in a Dumpster this morning, and her day has only gotten weirder. Her familiar B-cups have somehow become double Ds, her sex drive is insatiable, and apparently she had her fi rst one-night stand ever…with a fallen angel. All she remembers is gorgeous Noah’s oddly hypnotic blue eyes…and then a dark stranger whose bite transformed her into an immortal siren with a sexy Itch. With help from Noah, Jackie begins to adapt to her new lifestyle — until she accidentally sends Noah into the deadly clutches of the vampire queen and lands herself in a fi erce battle for an ancient halo with the queen’s wickedly hot righthand man. Who just happens to be the vampire who originally bit her. How’s a girl supposed to save the world when the enemy’s so hard to resist?

This is the first in the Jill Myles Succubus Diary series. I probably like the Midnight Liaisons and her current contemporary work the best but this is a good deal on a light hearted PNR.

Hush by Cherry AdairHush by Cherry Adair. $ 1.99

From the Jacket Copy:

National bestselling author Cherry Adair introduces an edgy, sexy new suspense series with this exhilarating international tale of hide and seek.

A reckless adventure in a deadly paradise.

Thrill seekers Zakary and Gideon Stark travel the globe in search of extreme adventure, but a trip to Venezuela to jump off the world’s highest falls catapults them into a perilous game of life or death—where they don’t know the rules.

A one-night stand that will change his life forever.

Kidnapped with a woman Zak knows nothing about, the brothers are held prisoner deep in the jungle. A risky, deathdefying escape separates them and nearly claims Zak’s life . . . until his recovery reveals a baffling new sixth sense.

An unexpected diversion with lethal consequences.

Now, to find his missing brother, Zak and the mysterious Acadia Gray will have to out-smart, out-gun, and out-maneuver not just the brutal kidnappers but also a new player who joins the adrenaline game: a ruthless opponent who wants the Stark brothers dead—at any cost.

Per Mandi at SmexyBooks “There are a few moments in this book that made me roll my eyes a little. First, all the bad guys smelled absolutely rank, while Zak and Acadia, who have been running around the jungle for days smell earthy, and like sunshine. But okay, it’s a romance book. We can’t have hot sex when we smell bad. Because Acadia works in a sporting goods store, she brings with her a vest that has 28 secret pockets in it. Of course she stuffs this with everything you can imagine (18 pounds worth) so this definitely helps them when they are kidnapped. She even has a tent shoved down her pant leg. This seems a little too convenient for a girl who has never traveled like this before.”

An Affair Without End by Candace CampAn Affair Without End by Candace Camp. $ 1.99.

From the Jacket Copy:

If a sophisticated beauty proposes a clandestine affair, could even the most proper gentleman resist? New York Times bestselling author Candace Camp concludes her scintillating Willowmere series with a seductive tale of an alluring lady who dares to break the rules. . . .

When Oliver, Earl of Stewkesbury, asks the dashing Lady Vivian Carlyle to ensure that his American cousins meet the cream of London society, he doesn’t anticipate the danger she will pose to his own self-control. Thrown into intimate contact with the lovely lady, Oliver finds he cannot stop thinking of Vivian—of her wit, of her smile . . . of her lips. And when Vivian, who has sworn never to subject herself to the bonds of matrimony, boldly suggests that she and Oliver become lovers instead, her scandalous proposal is temptation indeed! But with an alarming series of jewel thefts rocking London, the ever-outrageous Vivian insists on trying to discover the perpetrator despite Oliver’s admonitions. And when a bold lady steps into danger, it is a gentleman’s duty to protect her at all costs. What neither Oliver nor Vivian can anticipate, however, is that the ultimate cost may be both their hearts. . . .

Likeable characters but breeches in convention and not much of a build up for the romance.

Is there an HEA in Jill Myles Succubi books? I thought they were love triangle Urban Fantasy which is one reason I’ve never tried them.

My eyes are crossed from proofreading budget documents all day and my brain simply couldn’t figure out what trousers had to do with the Camp book when you wrote about “breeches in convention.” :-)

Douglas Adams is fantastic. Even though I had the paperback, I bought the ebook.

I could not wait to see if I would be gifted the Midnight Breed Companion book (print version) that this story has in it. Thanks for the heads up!
