This Week’s Ebook Specials

Orbit is offering  AFRAID by   Jack Kilborn as an eBook available for $1.99 for the month of April.   Winterbirth by  Brian Ruckley  is Orbit’s $1.00 title.    Ruckley’s new release, Fall of Thanes, will be available on 5/3/09 and the other title in the series, Bloodheir, is also available in ebook format.   (Someone seems to be listening to reader suggestions that all the titles in a series should be in eform).

Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione will continue to be available for $1.00.   Four Michelle Rowen titles will be available for the price of 2 (these are funny paranormals).   These sales start on April 1st and should be available at different etailers.   Sony will for sure carry them.

Fictionwise is having a 50% off sale. This means you pay Fictionwise’s full price (usually some discount off the retail price) and you get 50% of your purchase in Micropay dollars to be used in the future.

Harlequin is offering “sexy ebooks” for $2.99. I don’t know if this link doesn’t work until April 1 or what. Sexy eBooks $2.99 each. We’re bringing sexy back at Harlequin! eBook offer. Ends April 30, 2009

Orbit is offering AFRAID by Jack Kilborn as an eBook available for $1.99 for the month of April.

YES! I’m dying to read this book! I love his Jack Daniels series (Kilborn is JA Konrath for those who don’t know) and I’ve been looking for good horror to bring me back to the genre (I have Hill’s Heart-Shaped Box, but haven’t read it yet.) Does Kindle do the pub’s promo price? I was planning to hit Amazon tomorrow.

And I’ve already bitched in several places this morning about Harlequin’s inability to offer anything for the iPhone/Touch, so I’ll refrain from yet another whiny rant.

OHHH cool! I can’t wait to read Jack Kilborn’s Afraid, aka J. A Konrath. I have read the first two chapters and it starts off SCARY! I can already tell it has a much more of serious (hair on the back of your neck standing up) bent then the tongue in cheek manner that he tends to take with his Jack Daniels character cop series. I hope this is a huge success for him.

Damn you Fictionwise! I am trying to spend less money, not go on a book-buying spree.

[Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll go and treat myself to something right away!]

Thanks for the heads up Jane. Larissa Ione’s Pleasure Unbound is not only a $1 at Fictionwise, it is subject to the Buywise Club, so it cost me $0.85 in micro-pay! If I was paying cash, it would have been $0.43!

I am now crying over the Fictionwise sale…I’ve been trying so hard to be good!

I will third the recommendation for Jack Kilborn aka JA Konrath. The man has yet to write something I don’t love.

thanks for passing on the good ebook deals, Jane.
I haven’t tried the Unbound series, but a dollar price will put it on my buy list.

I’m buying a lot at fictionwise and have been waiting for the next big sale to get some titles from my wishlist. As micropay rebates is not my favorite kind of sale, I will use it only on a few of the pricier books and wait patiently for the next 30-40% instant reduction to cash in the micropay dollars.

But I’m wondering about FW because I haven’t received a newsletter since Feb 16th and my email to the support team is still unanswered, what is not what I experienced with previous contacts.

Amazon now has the Kindle-ized Afraid for 1.99. When I checked yesterday it was the paperback price, but I guess they caught up.
