Romance, Historical, Contemporary, Paranormal, Young Adult, Book reviews, industry news, and commentary from a reader's point of view

Jane Litte is the founder of Dear Author, a lawyer, and a lover of pencil skirts. She self publishes NA and contemporaries (and publishes with Berkley and Montlake) and spends her downtime reading romances and writing about them. Her TBR pile is much larger than the one shown in the picture and not as pretty. You can reach Jane by email at jane @ dearauthor dot com

I flipped through all the categories, and I’ve read exactly two of the books nominated. However, only about 3% of the romance I read is het, and I didn’t see a GLBT romance section, so maybe that explains it all.

No gay romance? So what’s with the rampant bigotry, anyway? Inquiring newcomers want to know.

Isn’t the whole point to celebrate love? Color-blind, gender-blind, soul to soul love?

I don’t know who is in charge of this organization, but seems to be time for them to step down and let someone with a bigger, more understanding heart take things over.
