KISSING MIDNIGHT, Emma Holly A new book by Emma Holly is always a luscious treat, and KISSING MIDNIGHT is the fabulous start to a new trilogy that will be published in consecutive months. Featuring a unique setting (1930’s England) and the return of Emma’s vampire creation, the upyr, KISSING MIDNIGHT has it all–terrific characters, compelling plot and white hot sensuality as only Emma can write it. Plus, it has a killer ending that will make reading the next book, BREAKING MIDNIGHT, a must. It’s a good thing then that readers only have to wait to July for BREAKING MIDNIGHT and August for SAVING MIDNIGHT!

ATLANTIS UNLEASHED, Alyssa Day I fell in love with Alyssa’s Warriors of Poseidon’s with her first two books, and I know I’m not the only one who’s been chomping at the bit for more books. The wait is finally over, and in a big way–ATLANTIS UNLEASHED is out in June, and ATLANTIS UNMASKED will be out in July. And boy, is it worth the wait–ATLANTIS UNLEASHED packs a wallop emotionally with the story of Justice, who is as damaged and tortured a hero as you can imagine. How he finds love and healing with Keely is something you won’t want to miss. Add heart-stopping action, memorable secondary characters and plot twists galore, and you have a recipe for an unforgettable read.

BRANDED BY FIRE, Nalini Singh Who hasn’t been impatiently awaiting Nalini’s new Psy-Changeling novel? And it’s also the first time the focus is on two changelings. Mercy and Riley have been striking sparks off each other and generally stealing each scene from their first appearance, and boy, the sexual tension between these two characters is unbelievable. This is one romance you need to read with the air conditioning cranked up to maximum!

SAPPHIRE DREAMS, Pamela Montgomerie One of the joys of being an editor is discovering new voices, and Pamela Montgomerie is one of those voices you won’t soon forget. For readers who love time travel as well as pirates, this is the book for you. When Brenna Cameron returns to Castle Stour on the coast of Scotland seeking answers about her past, she can’t imagine that she’ll be transported to a seventeenth-century pirate ship and a crew of dangerous scallywags who haven’t seen a woman in far too long. Nor could she have dreamed of her desires for the captain who comes to her rescue…

August 2009

SHOOT TO THRILL, Nina Bruhns Nina Bruhns has been delighting category romance fans for years. Now, romantic suspense fans can enjoy for themselves the thrill ride Nina has crafted. The first in a new trilogy about black ops operatives, SHOOT TO THRILL is a sexy, edgy roller-coaster of a book. A disillusioned black-ops hero is kidnapped by his ruthless former employers and forced to go on a suicide mission back to the scene of his worst betrayal-but an innocent woman is caught in the trap and sent with him, forcing him to choose: her life, or his vengeance.

HAUNTING BEAUTY, Erin Quinn Erin Quinn is another new author, and the title of her book, HAUNTING BEAUTY, is a perfect description of her novel–her writing will haunt you with it’s beauty long after you finish. A mystical, magical tale that’s both contemporary and yet timeless, the book has all the magic of it’s Irish setting and traditions combined with a fresh, original plot. Danni Jones believed everything about her past-that she was an unwanted child abandoned by her mother. That she was an outcast set apart by her clairvoyance. That she was alone. Then came the stranger. Dangerously seductive Sean Ballagh appears out of nowhere with a startling story that will challenge everything Danni thought was true.

He claims that Danni’s family has been searching for her ever since she disappeared twenty years ago. He’s come to bring her home to Ireland. But Danni fears there’s more to his story than he dares to reveal. And the only way to find out is by following Sean back in time, to a forgotten past, to a world where nothing is what it seems.

I absolutely can not wait for Nalini Singh’s Branded By Fire, it sounds like a thrill ride waiting to happen. And I am also extremely intrigued by Nina Bruhns’s Shoot to Thrill. Both these books look like hotbeds for conflict and I can’t wait to get lost in thier worlds.

And most looking forward to Emma Holly’s triology (I tend to buy them all at once rather than wait for each one to be released) and I’m a bit interested in checking out Sapphire Dreams – there just isn’t enough time-travel / pirate books being released for my liking!

Since I just came home from the bookstore yesterday with 13 new books, I have everything I want right now – except for more time to read!

It’s hard to pick just two from the list of upcoming releases. I’ll have to say Alyssa Day’s Atlantis Unmasked, because I’ll be at the beach and can fantasize about hunky Atlanteans coming out of the waters! hehe
I definitely also want Nalini Sing’s Branded by Fire. The Psy/Changeling series is such an interesting concept. Who else would’ve thought you could write a romance series with a race that outlawed emotions?

Those are my TOP two, but I’d also love Chris Feehan’s Hidden Currents. If my Gram was reading this blog, she’d just want two of that book and nothing else, haha!

I’m also a fan of Emma Holly’s Upyr series, but I haven’t started the Fitz Claire Chronicles yet (it’s in my TBR).
