You know when I sit down to write these books, I don't know what's going to happen. I'm just as surprised as my readers are when the off-the-chart things occur during the course of a story. I swear, I didn't have a clue that that guy in DD&Deceived would end up dead in a Porta-Potty. It just happened. And when Kathy, my heroine, was in the bathroom and had to use the toilet tank lid to defend herself, I didn't have that planned out. It doesn't work like that. I'm just sitting at my computer all hyped up and about to have to a tizzy. And the reason for my panic is obvious. I purposely put this character in danger, and now I've gotta help her get out of it. And the only thing in the room that could take out a goon with a gun was the tank lid. Hey, you have to work with what you have.

So what's Divorced, Desperate and Deceived about? Besides a dead person in a Porta-potty and my heroine whacking a goon with a toilet tank lid? Well, it's a fast-paced, quirky, romantic romp that sort of, kind of, reminds me of the old movie Bird on a Wire. It’s a story of second chances. The plumber, who ends up not really being a plumber, and Kathy the last of the Divorced, Desperate and Delicious club are running for their lives. And then there's Joey. Big, Bad . . . well, not-so-bad, Joey. This big ol' dude was another thing I hadn't planned on showing up when I sat down to write the book. As a matter of fact, he didn't pop in until page sixty and you can bet I gave him the second-degree for being late, because I had to go back insert him earlier. Yup, he is one of those characters that won my heart and earned a special spot in my book.

The book earned me my second Publisher's Weekly review. And Romantic Times Review gave it 4 ½ Stars, Top Pick. But more important than that, I'm hoping it will earn me a several hours of my reader’s time–time that they spend laughing, sighing and falling in love right along with my characters. You know, pleasing those reviewers is important, pleasing my readers is crucial.
