I think the fantasy of prostitution is probably a good sell for romance reading. There's something romantic in the idea of a successful, smart, highly-sought-after call girl abandoning that career for true love.

I agree with Jane, though, that the context USUALLY works best in a historical setting, or possibly a SF/F setting, perhaps in a culture where prostitution is not degraded.

It is good to hear that the 2nd and 3rd story are better than the 1st. The 1st story did not work for me at all and I have not gone back and tried the other 2. JH is one of my favorite authors, but I'm afraid this may have too much of an ick factor for me to finish reading.

Sorry but this book has the "Ick Factor" all over it.

Having a man give you money so he can f88k you is empowering how? Can some one please explain this to me because I don't get it.

Falling for some one who pays to have sex with some one (even though that some one is you) has me questioning their future relationship especially when he goes out of town on business trips.

I'm not sure where owing your own sexuality comes to downs to have sex with men who pay you, I think that logic defeats the whole purpose.

I hate the whole my husband left me for the other woman and now I have to have sex to prove my worth (yeah to a man who can keep it in his pants) why not prove your worth by leaving the ex in the dust and living your life to the fullest and leaving his cheat butt behind.

I like this author but will pass on this book,
