Interesting misconception, Susie. Writing a book in a few weeks would result in 20 releases a year and a very healthy royalty statement indeed!
Perhaps you're referrring to my current eharlequin online read, 'One Indian Summer', a prequel to A Trip with the Tycoon? I was given a 4 week deadline to write that 10000 word story and wrote it in a week?

Most writers have had one or two 'magical' books that fly from their fingertips. My fastest book was Two-Week Mistress (March 07), took 3 weeks to write (discounting layering, editing, revisions.) Sadly, a feat that has never been repeated.

The books that took me the longest to write are: 'The Billionaire's Baby' (Harlequin Romance May 09), 'The Boss's Bedroom Agenda' (Harlequin Presents Feb 09), Marriage: For Business or Pleasure? (Harlequin Presents Feb 2010), for your interest.

I know what you mean by not reading when you're hungry. Robin McKinley's Sunshine made me crave cinnamon rolls for weeks. Actually, I still kinda crave them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the journey Tam made in this story - the physical trip as well as her internal one. Thought the Indian setting and characterisation was particularly well done. As for the food, yum. Had to go out and buy some punjabi chai straight afterwards just so I could get those scents described into the air around me.

It didn't read as if written in a hurry to me.

Ok, how to say this while convincing myself I'm still a nice person. Here goes, I wouldn't recommend any of her books. I've happened across a couple that didn't make my head ache but that doesn't translate as 'recommendation worthy' to me. I don't recommend books unless they have a certain or a particular wow factor, whatever form that may come in. But I will tell you that Executive Mother to Be and Hot Nights with the Playboy weren't half bad.

Just sayin' is all, not to be confused with recommendin'...

I think the problem with this particular author is that she works too fast. Apparently she can write a complete book in as little as a couple of weeks and the proof can be seen in her finished works. Don't get me wrong, I've read and enjoyed books by N Marsh but I feel that some quality time in writing would produce quality in reading.

Just my opinion.
