I'll admit it up front: I'm a difficult reader to please.

Most contemporary erotica strikes me as too brusque, too crass, too frank, and too appropriate for certain men's magazines. It's also sadly lacking in fun, and almost completely without romance. When I decided to write an erotic novel, I looked looked backwards for my inspiration, back to the eighteenth century when sex was bawdy rather than dirty, and most passionate encounters took place in English country inns rather than in high-rise hotels in Vegas. I wanted to recapture the rollicking high spirits of Tom Jones and Fanny Hill, and the deliciously worldly (and delightfully romantic) adventures of those characters.

Thus Miss Marianna Wren was born: a wide-eyed innocent determined to make her way making love, and to have a fine old time in the process, and if she quickens your pulse in the process, why, all the better. Miss Wren is a well-traveled lady, and she does enjoy the company.
