A bit about the characters:

Josh Whittaker is a firefighter whom everyone in town thinks has it all together. Miranda is a children's book author and illustrator. It's a great job for her and for the most part, Miranda is something of the town happy-flake. A cross between a hippy and a bulldog, Randa never lets anything get her down, which is important because honestly, her life kinda sucks. Hard as she tries, she's never been able to stop loving Josh and she's tried pretty hard. She's tried hating him, berating him, annoying him, doing what he asks (for a little while anyway) and flat out ignoring him. But a lifetime of love doesn't just fade away, not even when you want it to. Now Randa has reached the point where she's decided Josh doesn't get to decide her happiness anymore.
