Behind the mask lies love-a dangerous and deadly emotion.

Constance Athelson, Viscountess Westbury has a gift she can't reveal. She sees things others can't, including the dead. The only thing she can't see is into the heart of Lucien Blakemore, Earl of Lyndham. After one blissful night in his arms, she knows if she's ever to win his heart, she must free him from his tortured past.

Lucien Blakemore met the Egyptian goddess Isis at a masked ball, but she vanished into the night before he could learn her real name. It's just as well, since the Blakemore Curse makes love a dangerous and deadly emotion for him. But the erotic night he spent with his mysterious lover makes him want to throw caution aside-if only for one more night with his masked goddess.

Koko Brown & Taige Crenshaw's Forever, I Do
Genre: Multicultural Erotic Contemporary
Length: Novella, for Loose-Id's Marriage For All Themed Releases

Rosalind Fletcher has a secret. Her one-of-a-kind wedding cakes are infused with a loving spell handed down from mother to daughter for over a century. Her sought-after creations are not only delicious, but rumored to be lucky as well: producing long-lasting marriages where the men never stray, the women don't nag, and 99.7 percent never face each other on opposite ends of a court room.

But what happens when her spell falls into the hands of the wrong person? Like Ashley Benedict, notorious playboy and wedding planner extraordinaire, who eats a sample meant for his clients? There's only one thing that can happen: he succumbs to the spell's bewitching powers and sets out to charm the pants off of the hardworking sole proprietress of Forever, I Do cakes.

While Rosalind frantically searches for an antidote, she surrenders to Ashley's lustful appetites. Will guilt push her into finding a successful cure for her bewitched lover, or will her heart allow herself to be locked into a loving relationship with a man who might not really be in love with her?

Oh, I was waiting for the author promo thread! I goofed up and almost missed it.

My debut single-title romantic suspense, Crash Into Me, features a surfer hero/murder suspect and a tough FBI agent heroine sent to investigate him. Jane liked the San Diego/La Jolla setting and the teen romance subplot. She gave it a B.

Thanks DA.

Book Four, Mated to a Wolf, in my erotic werewolf series at Liquid Silver Books was released on Feb. 9th.

Blurb

Finn York had a bad experience with werewolves. Marked emotionally and physically from the experience, his aversion causes him to fight the attraction he feels for the female werewolf he meets at Wulf's Den. Yet her scent draws him with the irresistible power of a werewolf's mating instinct.

Jocelyn works as a waitress at Wulf's Den. She'd noticed Finn months before but the sudden changes in him confuse her. When she serves him drinks one night he growls and sniffs the air as if he can smell her arousal and Jocelyn's confusion escalates. But her interest in Finn heightens and she plots a way to force him to overlook his disgust to claim her as his mate.

My book Hot Shot is available in print this month! It's a 2-time Golden Heart finalist and a 2009 Eppie finalist, and has garnered some pretty good reviews, which you can see at my website, www.mjfredrick.com. Here's the blurb.

Their passion rivals the fires they battle. Peyton Michaels expected her assignment to be simple-write an article about everyday heroes. Heroes like Hot Shot firefighter Gabe Cooper. She never expected to find herself running up a mountain, a wildfire nipping at her heels, her life in his hands. And she never expected to be drawn to Gabe. After the loss of her husband in the line of duty, the last thing she wants is to fall in love with yet another man who routinely puts his life at risk. Gabe has had enough of women who want to make him into someone he's not. Women like his ex, who couldn't handle the heat of his job. Like Peyton, who sees him as a hero when he's just a man doing a job. Except time after time, the pesky reporter proves her mettle. And gets deeper under his skin. But there's an arsonist at work, and danger is closing in with the speed of a raging brush fire. Peyton and Gabe have to dig deep for what it takes to be a real hero-to find the courage to reach out and grab a forever kind of love. Before it's too late.

Is it that time of the month again?

And how is it that every time I post on this thread, I've got a book from the last week of the previous month? :)

Anywho, my contemporary rodeo-set romance, The Devil Inside, is now available from Samhain. Here's a quick blurb:

It'll take more than one go-round to win this rodeo of the heart...

Thirteen years after her father was killed in a rodeo accident, Samantha Quincannon is facing her worst nightmare. An EMT, she has avoided rodeo duty like the plague. Now her career depends on her ability to face down her fear.

Cody Shaw hasn't seen Sam since the night of her father's accident, and their reunion is anything but typical. So is her reaction when a bull ride gone wrong lands him, broke and bleeding, in her reluctant care. And, until he's well enough to travel, in her bed. He knows he's far from a model patient, but would it kill Sam not to act like she'd rather climb on a bull herself than have him underfoot?

One thing hasn't changed-'their off-the-charts sexual tension. They both put up a good fight, but soon the heat burns through their resistance.

Even as Sam fights to protect her heart from the one danger she didn't see coming, something else becomes clear. Rodeo is in Cody's blood, and nothing, not even Sam, can make him quit taking crazy risks.

It's up to Sam to decide if she's ready to put on her big-girl boots-'and ride.

Warning: Lots of hot, sweaty, down-and-dirty lovin'. Cowgirl up!

@Kristi: I already had this book on my list for Victoria's novella, and now your excerpt has me thinking that I'll be very glad I got it. Woo hoo for an Edwardian setting, too!

The just-released anthology LORDS OF DESIRE (Kensington, trade paperback) includes my very-first release under my new pen name, Kristi Astor. The novella "Swept Away" is my first Edwardian-set historical romance--and a little 'hotter' than my previous titles written as Kristina Cook. Here's the little blurb:

Vivacious Christobel Smyth is a gentleman's daughter, while brooding, proud John Leyden comes from a family of northern mill owners. The two could not be more different, yet as passion flares at a country house party, Christobel finds he may be her match in every way...

You can read an excerpt here.

The anthology also includes historical novellas by Virginia Henley, Sally MacKenzie, and Victoria Dahl.

Hope you'll check it out!

A Ghost of a Chance, Legends Book 2, the sequel to the award-winning paranormal romance Beaudry's Ghost, is now available from Samhain Publishing.

Blurb:

One life hangs on the thread of her imagination...

Troy Brannon is a ghost with no time for heaven. Thanks to his well-intentioned meddling, he's got a missing soul on his hands. Fortunately he's learned a skill no well-behaved spirit should have-'the ability to zip through time and space.

A side trip to revive a drowning woman should've been simple. But the moment he locks lips with Carey Magennis, she generates an inner fire he's never felt before, alive or dead-'and his ability to time travel disappears.

When the rising tide closes over Carey's head, it's the end-'but only of life as she knows it. She wakes up haunted by the idea she no longer fits in, and by the sexy, lion-hearted ghost of the man who saved her. No one wants to hear about the strange things that have been happening to her since her near-death experience, least of all her image-conscious fiancé.

Troy realizes Carey accidentally stole his gift-'and she has no idea the danger she's in. Wherever her imagination takes her, she goes with it. Literally. Plus, that fiancé of hers has an agenda that doesn't include her survival.

Saving her will be as dangerous to his mission as she is to his heart.

Warning: This title contains some gratuitous bad language; the sex of your dreams with a professional bad-ass hero; bloody Civil War battles; astral joy rides; and a heroine who “gets it” in more ways than one! Oh, and another ghost hero who gets a HEA!

Thanks for opening this thread up!

What if your deadliest enemy...was the only one who could save you?

Zira is fifteen years old. She's an orphan. She has a terrible scar on her face from the fire that killed her family. And she hates the Sedorne - the murdering slugs that invaded her country and set her home on fire when she was five - like a vegan hates a double-bacon cheeseburger. She's been in training ten years to become a warrior priestess, defending her oppressed people against these barbarians. Her solution to a problem is to kick its ass so hard that it runs away. Screaming.

Nobody messes with Zira.

So what happens when she meets a problem whose ass she can't kick: the problem of her destiny? What happens when she finds out the people she loves have been lying to her all her life about who she is? That she's half Sedorne herself? What happens when she finds out that it's somehow up to her to make peace in a country that's been at war as long as she remember - and that violence might not be the answer?

What happens when she falls in love with her deadliest enemy?

Can you kick destiny's butt? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, Zira's going to have a damn good try.

Daughter of the Flames is my second young adult book, due out from Candlewick Press on the 10th of Feb.

Hi guys,

I believe the essence of any good fiction work is its anchor in plausibility. I think you can weave a great story on just about any topic, but you gotta persuade your audience, not that what you are telling them is probably, but how your characters react to the unbelievable is conceivable. That is what I try to bring to all my writings.

My novel, This life Isn't Perfect Holla, is a therapeutic journey that showcases the life of one Kimberly Riley. You will have a front row seat to her many ups and downs and hopefully you'll be standing and cheering when the curtain falls on her tale.

Night After Night, the final book in the Brotherhood of the Blood series is out!

"I'm Temple, Guardian of the Blood Grail

Centuries ago, this magnificent chalice sealed my fate as a vampire, and now I am its protector. Many have hunted me for it, but only Vivian has accomplished the task. Strong, lovely, haunted . . . I am more attracted to her than I should be, yet her loyalty lies with a man determined to bring about my destruction. But I am not so easily locked in a cage, and now the captive has become the captor.

Though her stormy eyes tempt me, there is too much at stake-'not merely my life, but the lives of my vampire Brotherhood. And I am not above using Vivian to achieve my goals, even if it means denying my own heart. The battle to end all battles is just beginning, and I must fight . . . if I could only let my desire be damned.”

Blurb:
Chuck rolls his rig across the no-longer-United States, from Montana to Arkansas. He expects a fast run with no complications. What he doesn't expect is Seven, a pretty blue-eyed drifter who turns not only his head but makes his blood burn.

His gayness tattooed into his very skin, Seven needs Chuck's help to escape the very limited life Heartland forces upon him. And when the even more repressive Confederated States take an interest, Chuck and Seven are in for the ride of their lives.

I have my very first Romantic Suspense out right now from Samhain Publishing, "Love Me Tomorrow", about a firefighter, the woman who loves him and the arsonist out to destroy them both...

A bit about the characters:

Josh Whittaker is a firefighter whom everyone in town thinks has it all together. He's a lieutenant in the local Engine #15, a renown bachelor, handsome and when the crap hits the fan-'ie: Your house is on fire, which-'in Southern California-'is pretty often, he's a guy you want to come save you. Because saving people is just what Josh does. It's who he is. But Josh is NOT a guy who has it all together.

Driven by dark memories, he's harder on no one more than himself. Though, that's a topic for debate. If you were to ask her, Miranda McTiernan might have a different answer...

Miranda is a children's book author and illustrator. It's a great job for her and for the most part, Miranda is something of the town happy-flake. A cross between a hippy and a bulldog, Randa never lets anything get her down, which is important because honestly, her life kinda sucks. Hard as she tries, she's never been able to stop loving Josh and she's tried pretty hard. She's tried hating him, berating him, annoying him, doing what he asks (for a little while anyway) and flat out ignoring him. But a lifetime of love doesn't just fade away, not even when you want it to. Now Randa has reached the point where she's decided Josh doesn't get to decide her happiness anymore.

To view the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlafQAlezBo

To read an excerpt: http://www.deetenorio.com/Blog/?p=1182

Thanks for the opportunity Ladies!

Driven by dark memories, he's harder on no one more than himself. Though, that's a topic for debate. If you were to ask her, Miranda McTiernan might have a different answer…

Here's my February Steeple Hill LI Suspense, DEADLY REUNION, w/a Florence Case:

What would you do if a man you knew to be a wife murderer was engaged to your sister? Police Officer Angie Delitano knows her sister's fiance killed his wife--she saw the evidence at the crime scene that later disappeared. But Angie's fiance, a lawyer, believed otherwise, took him on as a client, and got a "not guilty" verdict, by hurting her reputation after warning her he would do anything to get a client free. She walked out on him. When she gets a lead on the missing evidence, she plans on retrieving it, but her life is threatened. So she goes for help to Boone, knowing if he makes a promise to keep her safe, just like with his clients, he'll keep his word.

Even if the two get whoever is threatening her life, Angie still has three problems. She stopped her sister's first wedding a while back, so her family is barely talking to her and doesn't trust her, and if they find out her plans to stop this one, she'll be out the family she desperately wants back. She still might be even if she has absolute proof he is guilty. The second is Boone. Because he still loves her, he agrees to keep her safe, but he refuses to help her stop the upcoming wedding, still certain of his client's innocence. The third is someone out there seems to want her dead, and Boone is certain it's not the freed fiance.

Thanks for giving me this opportunity.
