The Austenite in me salivates at the thought of this book, but too many of my recent wallbangers have starred oblivious doormats seeking self after failed marriages. Thanks for the thorough review though, particulary since I couldn’t find excerpts.

If the narrator is up to snuff, I’ll try this later if there’s an audiobook.

I liked her trad Regency, Her Perfect Earl, written under the name Bethany Brooks. It had a number of touches in both plot and characterization that were believable and touching and that made the book stand out. I’d hoped she’d write another, but with the demise of the Signet Regency line, that hope was dashed.

Since I also liked her voice in the Beth Blessing contemporaries, I’ll look for this one — thanks for bringing it to my attention.
