Jane, yes people all over are struggling, but how can we know how to help if we aren't kept informed? I appreciate you letting us know about authors and readers in such need. I think it is wonderful that the romance community has come together to help each other.

Whether we can afford to donate, or prefer to donate closer to our physical home (as opposed to romancelandia), is our personal decisions. So please don't appologize for posting auctions and the like.

Thank you so much for posting this Jane. It is indeed a sign of our times that so many people are experiencing this. The auction was actually Emma Petersen's idea, and without her and Karen Scott it would never have happened. I appreciate your unique position and appreciate you doing this for us. Again, thank you so much.

I agree with Evangeline. If there was some kind of fund (trust or otherwise), it would make more sense.

I believe there is (or was) a fund called, Save the Quiet Kitty. It was for authors who had fallen on hard times.

Since running tame through the online romance community, I've witnessed nearly a dozen auctions for romance authors who've gone through hard times. I think there should be an official fund/auction for the romance community in general.
