I think there was also a mention of Butch as a little inside joke in one of these books…Maybe in the O’Banyon title. And yeah, Spike and Zsadist and Phury are supposed to be very distant cousins. With the new, less romance heavy arc of Ward’s recent BDB, I really hope she continues a few books under Bird. The woman can write.

I think J.R. Ward said somewhere that Spike and one of the BDB (Zsadist?) were cousins.

I’ve read this book too (and really enjoyed it) and noticed the same thing about Spike. I think it was because his eyes were said to be yellow in a certain light…which reminded me of two brothers :)

I really hope Jessica/Bird/JR Ward keeps writing these books. I like that the heroines are…real. My favourite though has to be Beauty and the Black Sheep, which is the first book in the series.

Ah – I read this book when it came out – I think right around the time I started the BDB books – and I noticed the same thing about Spike. (And didn’t Mad have an eating disorder? Or… one was hinted at?)

Jane, I read this book when it first came out and really enjoyed it. The Big Misunderstandings nearly had me throwing the book at the wall, but I have since learned to better control myself. I like Ms. Bird’s characters and will continue to read the books as they’re published. Glad to see the review.
