		<description>I once tried to read a litfic novel with no quotes (and virtually no other punctuation), and within fifteen minutes I had a headache. I couldn&#039;t be bothered to read past page 10. 

And it&#039;s not that I don&#039;t enjoy demanding prose. But the narrative needs to flow, and it can&#039;t flow if I have to stop all the time and decide whether a particular sentence or word is or isn&#039;t dialogue. 

Whatever drug these authors are self-medicating with, they need to cut it out...</description>
