I tried to read this book, but got so bored I stopped right after she ended up on their doorstep. I did like the cover art though, and that was why I bought it. So I guess it is true.....

I saw this one at the grocery store and was wavering on picking it up. After reading your review, I probably will buy it - light and fluffy can be fine depending on the mood. I'm glad for the information in the review, though. Maybe I'll enjoy the book more because my expectations are different.

I agree on the hero-as-usual issue. I really appreciate romances with a bookish-geeky hero, myself!

I'm reading stuff I missed when I had no time for leisure reading (single mom in grad school days); the one I just finished was Judith McNaught's Until You. While I had my issues with it (my pet peeve: the alpha hero who assumes the worst about the woman he loves, without giving her a chance to explain), the amnesia worked a lot better for me than I expected it would. I almost didn't read it when I saw that in the summary, and in the end I was glad I did read it.

Thank you for this review. I was considering this book because I enjoyed a few of this author's other novels. But I hesitated on making the purchase because I dislike romance plot lines involving amnesia and curses. Now I am definitely going to pass on this book. By the way, I feel the same way about the genre's focus on one type of hero, and that is one reason why I really look forward to reading Jo Goodman's novels as her heros generally are not the run of the mill Type A stiff upper lip aristocrats.
