Great review. Sandra is an auto-buy for me. Love the woman. Love her writing. She’s a pioneer as the first African American author for HQ. Very proud of her accomplishments. And after all that, she’s simply a good writer.

Thanks for the review, Jayne. I love Sandra Kitt’s books. Currently she’s one of the few straight contemporary romance authors who writes anything of substance.

Jessica, I knew the religious aspect would deter some readers but felt I needed to mention it since it’s such a large part of Cooper’s life. Michaela is more an “I’m a religous person but I don’t go to church every Sunday” kind of woman. Plus it’s a source of conflict between the two.

I’d like to thank Harlequin again for allowing us the chance to review so many of their books. It’s that which gives me the freedom to try books, lines and authors I might not otherwise want to take a risk with. In this case, it all came together perfectly in giving me the opportunity to try another one of Ms. Kitt’s books.

I haven’t read an AA romance in some years – mainly because I often think there is too much religion in the books. Interestingly, I am an AA author, (who writes ‘mainstream’ category romance) and am interested in trying these again. Your review scares me with the religion aspect, though. Maybe I’ll have better luck with the books I picked up at RWA. Thanks for doing the review though. I’d love to see more books like it on the site.

Jayne, thanks so much for reviewing this book! It’s not one that I normally would have come across, and yet it will be the perfect gift for a dear friend (which I will borrow back from her to read when she’s done). I can always count on DA to show me books I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise.
