Oh, brilliant! Thanks for this story. I’ve been researching Helen of Troy for a story I want to do on my own blog when I found yours. The link to the e-book is great, and the book itself promises to be very entertaining. (I had a good laugh over the pulp fiction cover too, ha!)

@Pauline Loven: Do you mean the third image? It’s from a PBS Home Video called, you guessed it, Helen of Troy.

It reads like a Noel Coward play or Philadelphia Story.

I found this on a bookshelf recently at a friends house and read it right through. It reads like a Noel Coward play or Philadelphia Story. Very tightly written and modern still, but dated… to the 20′s or 30′s.

Thanks for the link. I got the book from Project Gutenberg, repackaged it in HTML, minus the ads, but still including the preface work, and gave it to DH, who just loves this kind of stuff and is a nut for Ancient Greek History. He thanks you for the heads up.
