Orannia, you are so kind about my book Knight’s Move and I am delighted that you enjoyed it. I wrote it years ago when my oldest son was a baby. I thought at the time that I would make a full-time career out of writing historical novels, but am now too busy with my four children to find time to write. I’m so embarrassed. The author of the book I liked so much is Laura Drewry, not Drury.

Aaaanyway, Diane, yes, I am the same way. If I thoroughly loved a book in one genre, I won’t start reading something in that same genre. I have to find something completely different to cleanse the palate.

Sadly, I haven’t found a book in a while that I’ve wanted to sink into and never leave. Which makes me a bit sad, because I love that feeling.

I've got so many in the TBR and am so not sure what to read next. I bought Duke of Shadows this weekend, and have Moira Moor's Heroes Adrift coming from Amazon. There's also Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice in the TBR, and Maria Snyder's Magic Study. I'm also still working through Balogh's Slightly series. How's a girl to choose? However, I'm also looking forward to a couple new Kresley Coles and the new J.R. Ward.

Diane, I am like that too. Sometimes a really great book makes me hungry for more of the same and sometimes, it makes me just want to re-read the one I liked rather than moving on. Often I try to read in a different genre or sub genre so that I am not constantly judging one book against another.

Usually I read a couple of books on a weekend but this last week I savored Magic Burns. For some reason I kept coming back to it in my mind. I really enjoyed it. Do you find when you read a book you really like, that you are reluctant to start a new one because it might disappoint?

Hey Loonigrrl, I read Witch Blood a couple weeks ago and I felt the same way about the heroine. She just seemed to have a big chip on her shoulder. I thought Thomas was delicious though and was glad he didn’t put up with her crap. Keep reading because there is a twist to the end that I really enjoyed. It actually saved the book for me. I posted a review of it on my blog :)

I was reading the June issue of Realms of Fantasy magazine last night and saw a blurb for Gods of Manhattan by Scott Mebus. I don't remember the premise exactly, but it's a YA about a kid who can see the ghosts of important historical figures who lived in Manhattan. It sounded interesting to me.

I’m currently reading Witch Blood by Anya Bast, but am having trouble getting into it. I enjoyed the first one, but there’s something about the heroine that I don’t love. I can’t really put my finger on it. Anyone else read it?

Right now I'm reading and thorougly enjoying "The Devil's Daughter" by Laura Drury, which is an interesting mix of paranormal and western. The book releases tomorrow, and it is quite appropriate considering I have just sold my soul to Sybil. And I really really need to read the Sharing Knife books by Bujold since I love her so much. I just haven't because I'm already hooked on enough series. *LOL*

Thanks to the recommendations here at DA, I read Ariana Franklin’s Mistress of the Art of Death recently. It was awesome. Will be reading more from her very soon.

And I look forward to A Countess Belowstairs.

And of course Meredith Duran’s The Duke of Shadows is sitting at the very top of my TBR pile.

My favourite medieval romance EVER is Knight’s Move by Jennifer Landsbert (http://www.amazon.com/Knights-Move-Jennifer-Landsbert/dp/0373304315/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207622200&sr=8-1). Does anyone know if this author has published under another name as it is the only book by her that I have ever read and I would love to read more? (Not being very good at saying why I like a book I will try and explain why I loved it: the slow development of the hero and heroine’s relationship, the detail, the plot, story flow, etc. [See, not good at doing the book justice]).
