I also enjoyed her first book, Dedication, before Signet regencies fizzled out. I had read Signet regencies since the 1980′s and was probably one of the last people still reading them. So this author dropped off of my radar. I’m glad to hear she has a new book and this one sounds delightful.

If you want to read a comedic master, you can’t go wrong with Georgette Heyer, IMO.

Maya, I don’t actually seek out books described as humorous just because everyone’s taste is different. If I find a book to be funny, I’m delighted though. What type of humor appeals to you? Screwball, black humor, dry, witty, OTT? I’ll try and look at my reading notes and come up with some titles but it’ll be the weekend before I have a chance to.

i’m intrigued by your description of this book as a ‘delicious spoof’ and will make a point of finding it. I am an aspiring comedy writer and am always on the lookout for welldone funny writing, to learn from. The Smart Bitches did me a huge favour by asking their readership to give recommendations about funny romances. I wonder – do you have a list that stands out in your own mind?
I also have a newborn baby blog, part of which looks at books specifically from the angle of whether they make me laugh. I’m cutting my reviewing teeth!
