Jack made Arabella "melt" everytime he came into the same room! I like that kind of chemistry and would not "pick on" a tidbit like the mistress thing so much....even if I do agree with what you said. I can over look it because of Jane Feather's magical writing. The "protect Lilly" stuff made sense except for the degree of it. He was a smart guy, but he somehow didn't see what was happening? It felt like it was forced into the plot to ratchet up the tension. I kept thinking "Yes yes, I'm glad you're a nice guy, but get your priorities straight!" That was my feeling too. The “protect Lilly” stuff made sense except for the degree of it. He was a smart guy, but he somehow didn’t see what was happening?
