Whether is an french or maroccan wedding, we always pay attention to all details. When it comes to planning a wedding, all aspects are to be looked into with the outmost attention.

I really loved this story. Jack made Arabella "melt" everytime he came into the same room! I like that kind of chemistry and would not "pick on" a tidbit like the mistress thing so much....even if I do agree with what you said. I can over look it because of Jane Feather's magical writing. Of course she has written better books but this one caught my fancy enough.

PS How can I get in touch with Ms. Feather? I cannot seem to find her website. Does anyone know? Thanks!
The thing that bothered me is that, while protecting the mistress he humiliated Arabella in public.
That was my feeling too. The "protect Lilly" stuff made sense except for the degree of it. He was a smart guy, but he somehow didn't see what was happening? It felt like it was forced into the plot to ratchet up the tension. I kept thinking "Yes yes, I'm glad you're a nice guy, but get your priorities straight!"

*He had a longstanding liason with his mistress and he didn't want her to suffer publicly because his affections were no longer engaged.*

The thing that bothered me is that, while protecting the mistress he humiliated Arabella in public. I just couldn't understand it. It was very decent of him not to throw Lily to the sharks but all this came at the expense of Arabella, which was not decent at all.
