Warning Will Robinson, Warning! Just discovered last night what "compatibility issues meant." IE7 doesn't like my Invision Bulletin Board. OY! and so I have to figure out how I can make changes or revert back to IE6, which means the DH will be doing a massive revamp of my hard drive. Grrrrr.

Monica - I don't think that you can customize that yet. Maybe in an upgrade.

Jane, You are a GODDESS! Thank you for such a detailed post. I downloaded IE 7 last night, then instantly regretted it because it was so different. Your post gave me reasons to love it.

Although I didn't see in your post where I can customize the location of the URL-Refresh/Stop buttons or toolbars. I've tried moving them (yes lock toolbars is off), but I've not been successful in putting the toolbars in the top to bottom order that I like. And now I have to get used to going to the right side of the screen, not the left to hit stop or refresh. GRRRR

But I love the way they've changed the Add Fav links, although I wish I could get rid of the stupid Icons on my row of links I use constantly.

Love the RSS feeds piece too. I suppose FeedBlitz will go the way of the wind with IE7's ability for instant update.

GREAT, GREAT info!! Big Hugs for doing research I don't have to since I'm on deadline. (Day job at least lets me play on blogs! LOL)

Morning...

Built in to the browser is an anti-fraud system that changes the colour of the address bar to red when a user visits a known phishing site. Other warnings will pop-up if an IE 7 user strays onto a site displaying suspicious activity. There has been some concern that this means that IE 7 is sending to Microsoft the url of every webpage you visit. Someone from Microsoft disputes this. I don't know who is right.

Yes, it sends the URLs to a site to be compared to a list of known phishing site. This color change is also active if the 'secure' site you are using has an expired certificate. I've had both happen to me. While the certificate error has no work around, you can turn off the 'phishing filter' via the tools menu. So there are ways to 'opt out'.
